Design Assignment 7: Interpreting Own Brief

Posted on Aug 09, 2012

As a corollary to the design assignment where the students had to interpret a client brief, in the following assignment, students were asked to design a book cover on the basis of their own brief. This proved to be an interesting exercise because it showed how—even when they received the same instructions and used similar techniques—each student's individuality was highlighted by their different interpretations.

The following are the covers that were judged as the best three by the students.

Manasij Dutta's design on the basis of his own brief about a book that communicates more through visuals than through words.

Rachita Saraogi's design on the basis of her own brief about a book on the street culture and street food in India.

Boski Jain's design on the basis of her own brief on a book about the various styles of art used to visually represent politics in India.
